Volunteers meeting: 22nd April 2010: Work to support the Two Tunnels Route

With work on the project now under way, we're considering how to look after and care for the path once it's complete.

Many routes administered by Sustrans (including NCN 4 that passes through Bath) are kept in good order by volunteers who undertake a variety of tasks:

• Checking sections
• Monitoring signage
• Keeping an eye on vegetation
• Cutting back overhanging branches and brambles
• Reporting potholes and other hazards
• Helping to look after sculptures and mileposts
• Supporting other activities and events

In other words, if you want to help, there’s a place for you!

Next meeting: 22nd April 2010

So, we are holding a meeting in the Percy Community Centre, New King Street, Bath on Thursday 22 April 2010 at 6.30pm as the initial stage of setting up a Sustrans Two Tunnels Volunteer Group.

This will include:

• A presentation about the project and progress to date
• How volunteers can get active
• A chance to sign up as a volunteer and meet others in the group
• Future potential group activity

If you would like to come along we would love to see you. The meeting is scheduled to last about 2 hours.

Simply provide a basic 'Yes I intend to come along'. You don't need any particular skills or experience: just a basic desire to make the Two Tunnels path a success!

If you think you might like to become a volunteer but can’t make this session, fear not, there will be other opportunities later on.
