Two Tunnels Greenway

A new shared path for Bath and North East Somerset

Start of Work Ceremony™: Monday 8th March 2010

You're welcome to come to a simple 'Start of work' ceremony for the Two Tunnels route.

When
4pm Monday 8th March.
Where
Devonshire Tunnel, north portal, see map below.
What
Please don't expect to see much work in progress - this is a start of work ceremony ... you will be able to witness the start of the first contract, and a ceremonial spade will certainly be involved. In the future, when you visit or use the route, you'll be able to say 'I was there when the work started'.

Directions

The map below shows Bath Spa station in the city centre at the extreme top right. The station at the top left being Oldfield Park.

The green arrow on the map is positioned on a public open space, and indicates the position of the start of work ceremony and buried tunnel portal. The two red arrows roughly indicate the nearest points from which you can walk to it.

Of the two red arrows, the 'Right' red arrow is in Bloomfield Road - from there you can walk down across the grassed public open space to its lower left hand corner from which a gate gives access to Linear Park. The 'Left' red arrow indicates the position of Hiscocks Drive off Hillside Road, where another gate gives access to Linear Park, from which you can walk beneath Maple Grove Bridge.

If you arrive in a vehicle, please park considerately.

Waterproof footwear with a good grip would be a very good idea, Linear Park is very muddy at this point.
