Our Mailing List

• is free to use, hosted by Yahoogroups
• allows supporters to keep in touch with progress
• allows us to keep in touch with you
• provides evidence of the community support for the route

Signing up is a positive action - but doesn't commit you to receiving heaps of email - you can configure things to suit you - see below.

The 'Two Tunnels' path is a project of more than local interest - we have international members, as well as neighbours to the path. Wherever you live, you can help us by signing up - use the form at the foot of this page.

To improve the mail options available to members, we've changed our mailing list provider - it's now hosted by Yahoogroups. If you were subscribed to the old list but had set preferences to 'No mail' it would be a good idea for you to join this new one (which has a 'No mail' setting and more, see below). The mailing list has two functions:

Supporters List

By joining, you indicate that you support this idea - allowing us to provide an indication of the level of  support. Once you've joined, please stay joined! Various options allow you to elect to receive only news of path developments, or to opt out of messages altogether.

It allows supporters to keep in touch with developments, and to exchange ideas

When you subscribe to the group, you'll be offered the chance to create a 'Yahoo email account' - you won't need this unless it would be useful to have another email address, so take the tick out of that box. Once you've subscribed to the mailing list, you've several choices concerning the form in which you'd like to receive messages from the group: you'll be able to change these at any time by revisiting the group.

Receive all mail sent to the group

Once you've joined the group, go to its web page and select 'Edit membership' - and in 'Message delivery' select the option to receive all messages.

Receive a 'Daily digest'

You'll receive all email, but all messages will be gathered into a single post sent out once a day.

Receive only 'Special notices'

We use these as a way of passing news and announcements to you. To set this up, proceed as above and then, in 'Message delivery' choose the 'Special notices' option.

Receive no mail

There's also an option there to receive no mail from the list - you'll still be able to read messages on the group's web site.

The default is to receive mail - if this isn't to your liking, do set one of the other options. You can do this yourself via the group's web page - if you're stuck simply ask for help.

When posting to the list, please respect others and remember that your post will be read by several hundred people. If you need to get in touch with the committee, use the email address at the foot of every 'Two Tunnels' web page. Note that you'll need to remove the 'Spamtrap' phrase 'Breezeblock' from that address ...

Use this form to join the list

This form submits your email address to 'Yahoogroups', after which you'll see a 'Yahoogroup' web page with information about a message sent to you with an invitation to join.

When you respond to that, you will be asked to set up a Yahoo ID should you not already have one. (Our experience with 'Yahoogroups' dates back several years, and has been positive to date, do see their privacy policy though)
