For Google supporters group members
switching to the new Yahoogroup supporters group

We still need you

As you've already registered as a supporter once, we'd like to see you on the new mailing list - we've now over 100 members there. We switched suppliers to provide everyone with a better experience and help our numbers to grow - we also know from previous experience with other lists that taking everyone to a new list takes time.

If you need help with switching, please ask via the email address at the foot of the page. (Take the word 'breezeblock' out of the address, as it's there to deflect spam). If you've subscribed to the new list and would like me to set your email preferences on your behalf, again, just ask.

Yahoogroup identities

Yahoogroups are free to members, but supported by (unobtrusive) advertising.

When you join any Yahoogroup-hosted list for the first time, you'll be asked to create a 'Yahoogroup identity'. It's a fairly simple process, but not utterly straightforward - among other things, they need to confirm that you are an individual rather than some automated system signing up in order to abuse the service, so among other things they send you an email to which you need to reply - to confirm yourself as owner of the email account. This is one method that Yahoo use to make it difficult for people to use automated software to create accounts for malicious reasons.

Once you've created the Yahoogroup identity, you'll be able to use your username and password to log into our pages on the Yahoogroups site and do things like change email delivery preferences.

Yahoogroup email account - you probably won't need one ...

When you create a 'Yahoogroup Identity', you'll be offered the chance to create a Yahoo email account - but you won't need this, unless it would be useful to have another email address just take the tick out of that box.

Mail delivery

Once you've subscribed to the mailing list, you've several choices concerning the form in which you'd like to receive messages from the group: you'll be able to change these at any time by visiting the yahoogroups site (or send a request to the moderator and we'll do this for you).

Receive all mail sent to the group
To change mail delivery preferences, once you've joined the group, go to the yahoogroups site and select 'Edit membership' - and in 'Message delivery' select the option to receive all messages. You'll need to have created a 'Yahoogroup Identity' before logging into the site.
Receive a 'Daily digest'
You'll receive all email, but all messages will be gathered into a single post sent out once a day.
Receive only 'Special notices'
We use these as a way of passing news and announcements to you. To set this up, proceed as above and then, in 'Message delivery' choose the 'Special notices' option.
Receive no mail
There's also an option there to receive no mail from the list - you'll still be able to read messages on the group's web site.

The default is to receive mail - if this isn't to your liking, do set one of the other options. You can do this yourself via the group's web page - if you're stuck simply ask for help.

If you need to get in touch with the committee, use the email address at the foot of every 'Two Tunnels' web page. Note that you'll need to remove the 'Spamtrap' phrase 'Breezeblock' from that address ...

Use this form to join the list

This form submits your email address to 'Yahoogroups', after which you'll see a 'Yahoogroup' web page with information about a message sent to you with an invitation to join.

When you respond to that, you will be asked to set up a Yahoo ID should you not already have one. (Our experience with 'Yahoogroups' dates back several years, and has been positive to date, do see their privacy policy though)
